A terrible accident

I was one of the first people to arrive at the scene of an accident today. A man on a bicycle was involved in a collision with a car.

The police, ambulance service and air ambulance were all called. The cyclist suffered a head injury and then a cardiac arrest. Paramedics attempted resuscitation but the man died at the scene.

I don’t want to say much more at this stage until the investigation has been carried out, but this was obviously quite a harrowing experience and brought home the dangers involved with cycling on our roads.

Oh no. That’s aweful. I hope you have someone to talk to about what happened. Not only how you feel abut what you saw but also the implications for you as a cyclist. Fear can paralyse us on the road and make it more dangerous for us to ride so it’s sometimes good to have someone who can help us talk through that.

Sending positive vibes across the oceans to help you with what must have been a difficult experience
